BIM implementation
Since the first implementation of BIM in our office, in 2014 we are improving each year our use of Revit.
Furthermore, we are specialists in supporting companies that have a big flow in retail projects in their transition to BIM, improving their agility, execution and the standardization of their expansion processes. Amidst these companies that we already support, there are renowned brands like Lojas Renner and Centauro.
Methodology
A project developed in BIM can help from simple processes as building visualization, up to the management and maintenance after the construction, merging stakeholders from different locations through a cloud data system.
All these possibilities are initially evaluated from the angle of each client, understanding deeply their peculiarities and goals. After the early process mapping, we begin the template creation phase, which is unique for each client. Lastly, comes the BIM training that gives the necessary skill for both using the tool and giving the project a better management.
Process Mapping
The entire deployment of the BIM methodology starts with mapping the customer processes. This step is vital to develop what’s left of the project and to reach success in migration.
Having the knowledge of the existing projects and all their details, we create flowcharts of it and validate them with our customer. The mapping is important because the tool deployment will bring a change in the workflow and in its methodology, as much as in the internal team as in the subcontracted and partners’ teams.
BIM Modeling
In this step we organize all items that will make part of the project through a common file: the template. The template will be the basis for each new project and it is going to be available to the companies, which will be able to create project standards with it. The template will ensure that all the architectural projects contain the same information, which can be handled by the construction management, operational services and maintenance of the building.
An optimized and organized modeling brings with it an excellent result in the future steps, because it is capable of foreseeing problems and solving them without wasting resources.
BIM Training
With the template finished, we start the Revit classes using as a base a pilot project handed by the customer. The template set in the previous step is already employed in this stage. The training has as its main goal go through all the phases of a project, just like it happens in reality, introducing the student to the complete modeling of the project since the beginning.
This process also includes the modeling of existing building with the use of phasing, constructive modeling of different layouts, application of data in the model, development of the documentation and other advanced tools that will depend on the goals set together with each client in the first step.
