Project context:
The transformation: a real shopping center
One clear goal directed the reform and expansion project of Canoas Shopping: bring a new identity and transform it into a contemporaneous shopping center that could be at any place in the world.
The challenge
There were many challenges in this expansion project, mostly about exploring natural lighting and providing connection to the external environment through large glass observation windows.
Secondary Challenges:
- Providing a pleasant place that, at the same time, reminds a familiar place, with living environments in the mall that stimulate the customer staying.
- With the use of natural light, it was necessary to be careful with elevated heat in the spaces. This was done optimizing the air conditioning equipment.
Solutions
The project resulted in a combination of sustainable solutions that prioritize environmental responsibility. Solutions in electrical, sanitary and climatization systems were used to reduce the environmental impact..
