Project context:
Construction of a new unit of a Centauro shop, a omnichannel brazilian store network specialized in selling sportswear, in a Shopping in the city of Criciúma.
The challenge
Unlike the other malls we are used to working with, Nações Shopping provided us with the challenge of designing our first Centauro chain store with a metallic tile roof without heat treatment.
Secondary challenges
Another major challenge we faced was the routing of infras due to the great distance between the store’s shell and the technical area, a location provided by the mall for condensers in the air conditioning system.
Solutions
Due to the absence of thermal insulation in the metallic roof, it was necessary to find a solution that could reduce the thermal load, allowing a lower energy consumption in the store. With our structural engineering partners we projected a metal structure fixed in the Shopping roof with struts. This auxiliary structure allowed us to fasten the ceiling and the store facilities, maintaining all of them visible, as the Centauro concept is.
