Project context:
Change of perspective without losing the essence.
A Centauro store unit, located in Shopping Bosques dos Ipês, hired our office to execute a reform in their existing place.
The challenge
The biggest challenge we faced was to attend the client request to maintain the current mezzanine – which has a considerable area in relation to the store area and a low room height.
Secondary challenges
The arched facade in the store entrance also brought some challenges during the measuring and the modeling of the store.
Solutions
Strategic alignment
Due to the client request of preserving existing facilities, it was essencial a strategic alignment, since the beginning, between all the stakeholders to arrange which facilities could be retained and the position of the new installations of the store.
Mezzanine
With a low room height, it was necessary a precise clash detection between the project disciplines as well as some layout modification to meet the new fire protection standard.
Technical solutions
With the purpose of conforming with the standards of the escape routes, established by the city fire department, a new staircase design was necessary to access the mezzanine, rearranging the store layout. For that we counted on the support of the fire protection engineers to assure that the staircase was in the correct position.
