Project context:
In the early 2000s, we executed a project to reform a unit of the brand Dolce Gusto – Coffee and Bakery. After 17 years, we were invited again to redesign the same space.
The reform should be timeless and meet the new ways of consumption of the customers. The focus was to build a new experience in the sales, buffet and staff areas.
The challenge
The main expectation of the project was to get a coffee house where the client could order at the balcony and receive his order at the table. The cafeteria layout was designed based on this flow, leading the client to the tables located inside and outside of the cafeteria.
Solutions
Architecture
The house where the cafeteria is located had exposed brick walls and the modernization proposal had the intention of turning it into a more contemporary architecture with a sophisticated aspect. To do this, a new finishing material was designed for the house and a pergola and new accesses were added. In the interior, on the double height, noble finishing materials were used to value the final product served by the client.
Serra Gaúcha
As Bento Gonçalves City is located at Serra Gaúcha, it was necessary to design a covered pergola to receive the clients during cold days of the year and to privilege the view of the street, one of the most busy and beautiful streets of the city. This way, a metallic and modern pergola with fixed points in the building was designed to bring lightness to the house.
Accessibility
To receive clients that need accessibility, the frontal area of the building was designed to bridge the gap between the sidewalk and the house level. With the support of a landscape architecture team, the proposal was to incorporate the ramp in the landscape and also create green areas in the surrounding.
